The 1975s Matthew Healy is no longer a director at Dirty Hit Limited, the private limited company behind the independent British record label Dirty Hit. Healy was appointed as a director in December 2018, online records show, and he held the role until his termination on April 4, 2023. Neither the 1975 nor directors at Dirty Hit Limited have publicly commented on the termination, but Pitchfork understands the move is administrative in nature.
Dirty Hit Limited was incorporated by directors and label founders Jamie Oborne, Ugo Ehiogu, and Brian Smith in 2010. Online records show that Ehiogu and Smith had their positions as directors terminated in 2017, but that Smith was eventually re-appointed as a director. The labels Ed Blow was also made a director in 2018.
The 1975 have released all of their music via Dirty Hit and remain listed on the labels website. Matthew Healy, in particular, has worked closely with his labelmates, making music with Beabadoobee, No Rome, Blackstarkids, and the Japanese House. Rina Sawayama also covered the 1975s Love It If We Made It for the deluxe edition of Sawayama, released via Dirty Hit.
