According to TMZ, former WWE wrestler and 2015 Tough Enough winner Sara Lee died by suicide in October 2022 at the age of 30.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office autopsy report revealed that she ingested a lethal combination of alcohol and pills, and officials found “letters of intent” at the scene.
Additionally, abrasions and bruises were found on her head and body, although it is speculated that they were sustained in a fall while under the influence.
Lee joined WWE after winning their reality show in 2015, which earned her a one-year contract.
She made her debut in January 2016 at an untelevised NXT event and continued to train in the ring in the following years. Lee was married to former WWE star Wesley Blake (Cory Weston) and had two young children with him, Piper and Brady.
Her last WWE match was with Liv Morgan against Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, after which she continued to train in the ring. In her last social media post, she celebrated finally being healthy enough to go to the gym for two days in a row after recovering from a sinus infection.
Lee’s mother confirmed her death on Facebook and asked for privacy for the family to grieve.
WWE expressed their condolences to her family, friends, and fans, and recognized her as an inspiration to many in the sports-entertainment world.
