M88 has announced that Woody McClain, an actor, professional dancer, and content creator, has joined their agency for representation. M88 plans to create and develop opportunities for McClain in the entertainment and strategic partnership fields.
McClain is currently playing the role of Cane Tejada in the popular Starz television series Power Book II: Ghost, alongside Mary J. Blige, who portrays his mother Monet Tejada. The drama series premiered its third season on March 17th, setting a record for viewership during its first weekend, and becoming Starz’s biggest premiere weekend ever. The show has already been renewed for a fourth season.
McClain’s upcoming project is the film Desperation Road, set in Mississippi, which depicts a single event that leads to an entire town on a collision course fueled by vengeance, anger, and regret. Mel Gibson, Garrett Hedlund, and Ryan Hurst also star in the movie.
McClain’s most notable role is his portrayal of Bobby Brown in the BET miniseries The Bobby Brown Story. He was also nominated for Best Actor at the 2017 BET Awards for his performance in BET’s The New Edition Story. Additionally, he starred in the films The Harder They Fall with Jonathan Majors and Regina King, and Canal Street opposite Bryshere Gray, Jon Seda, and Mekhi Phifer.
