Joseph Williams, a 41-year-old man from Chicago, has overcome a lifetime of bullying and feelings of worthlessness due to being born without a jaw.
Williams was born with orofacial syndrome, a rare congenital disorder caused by a mutated gene that left him unable to speak or eat with his mouth. Instead, he uses sign language and an eating tube.
Williams struggled with low self-esteem and felt unworthy of love, but he eventually found his soulmate, Vania, in 2019. They started as friends and eventually fell in love, getting married in 2020.
Williams, who works as a welder, never thought he would get married, but he believes that everyone deserves more out of life, no matter their challenges.
He hopes to inspire others who may be struggling with similar issues to believe in themselves and find love and happiness.
