Samini Reveals Fractured Relationship with Sarkodie
Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Samini, recently disclosed that his relationship with rapper Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, remains strained after both sides failed to resolve an issue between them.
Samini stated that Sarkodie has not shown any remorse for his actions towards him. Therefore, until Sarkodie apologizes, Samini will not let go of the issue.
According to Samini, Sarkodie did not demonstrate enough commitment and respect towards him. After sending Samini a song to collaborate on, Sarkodie delayed his response for a considerable amount of time. This led to an acrimonious relationship between the two artists.
During an interview with TV3 on the DayShow, which GhanaWeb monitored, Samini expressed his willingness to forgive Sarkodie if he apologized for the disrespect shown.
The host of the show, Berla Mundi, questioned Samini about whether he had forgiven Sarkodie after being treated unfairly by the rapper.
Berla Mundi: Okay, so you clearly haven’t moved on from that [feud with Sarkodie].
Samini: No.
Berla Mundi: You haven’t forgiven him?
Samini: No.
Samini: Has he [Sarkodie] asked for forgiveness?
Samini: No.
Berla Mundi: If he does, you’d forgive him?
Samini: Of course, as simple as that.
Samini further explained, “If a man is remorseful and says, ‘Charlie, sorry that I poured red oil on your white attire,’ you’re cool. But if the man tells you, ‘this small thing, you’ve taken it seriously,’ how are you going to be cool? That type of ‘I forgive you’ is ‘I leave you to God’ kind of forgiveness and not that I’ve forgiven you. It’s ‘I leave you to the Maker.’ You think you’re cool. Go around and just keep pouring.”
Samini narrated how Sarkodie showed disrespect by questioning him after receiving a song, but then failed to respond promptly.
“I enjoy those challenges. Yeah, but how is it okay for you, this young boy [Sarkodie], to receive my song and question me, and then afterward, disappear and ignore me until I release my project? Until years down the line, until I actually get to casually talk about it online for you to dismiss it like nothing happened?” expressed a disappointed Samini.
