According to a statement from Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, she and Jayson Boebert have filed for divorce.
Boebert, who was first elected in 2020, stated that the divorce was due to “truly irreconcilable differences.”
She also mentioned that she has always been faithful in her marriage and strongly believes in the institution of marriage, which makes the announcement even more difficult.
Boebert has four sons with Jayson, who has worked in the oil and gas fields for his entire adult life, according to her website.
In her statement, Boebert expressed her gratitude for their years of marriage and beautiful children, who deserve privacy and love as they work through the divorce process.
She also stated that she does not intend to discuss the matter further in public out of respect for their children and will continue to work hard to represent the people of Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District.
