Charli XCX has joined the cast of Legendary Entertainments remake of the 1978 cult horror film Faces of Death. Shell co-star alongside Euphorias Barbie Ferreira and Stranger Things Dacre Montgomery. According to TheWrap, the movie is in production in New Orleans.
Daniel Goldhaber is directing Faces of Death. Hes also co-writing the movie with Isa Mazzei. Faces of Death was one of the first viral video tapes, and we are so lucky to be able to use it as a jumping off point for this exploration of cycles of violence and the way they perpetuate themselves online, the writers said in a statement.
Last year, Charli XCX released the song Hot Girl for A24s horror comedy Bodies Bodies Bodies. Coming up, she is writing and producing songs with Jack Antonoff for A24s pop melodrama Mother Mary. Shes also an executive producer of the forthcoming Amazon Studios comedy series Overcompensating.
