Presenting you with the latest development in the ongoing health battle of the esteemed Canadian songstress, Celine Dion, against Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).
It’s noteworthy that Celine Dion revealed her diagnosis of this rare neurological disorder through an emotionally charged video shared on her official Instagram account in December 2022. Stiff Person Syndrome is a condition so uncommon that it afflicts a mere fraction of the population, approximately one in a million individuals.
Delving further into her health predicament, Celine elucidated, “While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having. Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way I’m used to.”
In a recent update, Townflex has gleaned that the indomitable singer-songwriter is leaving no stone unturned in her quest for recovery.
In an exclusive interview with Canada’s HELLO! Magazine, Celine’s sister, Claudette, disclosed that her resolute sibling is employing every conceivable means to combat her health tribulations.
Celine has been grappling with spasms that defy control, and Claudette candidly acknowledges that their ability to provide support in such circumstances is rather limited.
She said: “It’s an illness we know so little about. There are spasms – they’re impossible to control. You know who people often jump up in the night because of a cramp in the leg or the calf? It’s a bit like that, but in all muscles.
“There’s little we can do to support her, to alleviate her pain.”
