Benzino Claims Michael Jackson Personally Thanked Him for Roasting Eminem on Wax
In a clip from The Gauds Show podcast shared on Thursday (April 13), Benzino, former co-owner of The Source, made a stunning revelation. He claimed that he received a call from the legendary King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who thanked him for roasting Eminem on a track.
According to Benzino, Michael reached out to him because he was grateful for the display of Black solidarity on the track. The call had an unforgettable moment, with Michael talking about the music industry and going on a rant about Tommy Mottola.
Benzino made it clear that his reason for the call wasn’t because he thought all white people were bad, but rather the way the industry treated Black artists.

Let me tell you, Michael Jackson called me, Benzino told hosts Ray Daniels and Tamira Smith. I knew Mike. I met Mike through Teddy [Riley]. He called me and he thanked me. Because when Eminem dissed him with the fire situation, in the [Just Lose It] video, Mike called and I remember his assistant put him on the phone and I sat there and listened to him. And he thanked me.
He started talking about Tommy Mottola. And it was one of the greatest moments of my life. And Im not saying it because all white people are bad. Were not saying that. Not all of them are devils. But Mike was referring to the situation in the music industry, and he was just going on a rant. But Ill never forget that.
I was at a point in my life that I didnt have to answer to nobody. Everything I said was true. I said that Black people got Hip Hop and we got white people to finally buy into it. And now, they wanna give white people something that they can buy into. When Eminem came out, he just got different treatment than every other Black rapper. And I just didnt appreciate that. He said.

Although Benzino vowed in 2022 to stop antagonizing Eminem after years of ridicule, it seems he still wants the smoke with Slim Shady. He criticized Eminem’s 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, calling out the institution for overlooking Black hip-hop artists who paved the way for Eminem.
Benzino went on Twitter to voice his thoughts, saying, “Rock and roll hall of fame is just like the Grammys. They have no respect for our culture, Black or Hip Hop, and if you dont agree, youre racist, period point blank.”
In conclusion, it’s clear that Benzino’s resentment towards Eminem is still ongoing, and he’s not afraid to speak his mind. Despite his vow to stop antagonizing Slim Shady, it seems like Benzino still has something to say about the rap icon’s success.
