Renowned Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is poised to etch her name in the annals of history as the first female protagonist in a Yash Raj Films’ spy universe venture, as per Variety. In this forthcoming production, Bhatt will don the mantle of a formidable secret agent, with filming anticipated to commence in 2024.
A trade source told Variety: “Alia is one of the biggest superstars of our country today and she will play a super agent in the YRF spy universe like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. This will be another epic action spectacle that will leave people at the edge of their seats. Alia will take on a mission that will push her to the edge and this gritty action film will expand the YRF spy universe further.”
Producer Aditya Chopra masterminded this spy universe, which first unfolded with the Tiger franchise, showcasing the talents of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Ek Tha Tiger kickstarted this cinematic saga in 2012, followed by Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017.

The universe expanded its horizons in 2019 with the release of War, featuring the dynamic duo of Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Recently, the franchise attained its biggest Indian triumph to date with the release of Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham.
Pathaan amassed a staggering $130 million at the box office, solidifying its status as a blockbuster. Collectively, these four films have raked in approximately $300 million, redefining the benchmarks of success.
Tiger 3, the next chapter in this exhilarating spy universe, has been scheduled for a grand unveiling in November, coinciding with the festive Diwali season. Leading the charge in this highly anticipated release are the indomitable duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. Subsequently, the baton shall be passed to Tiger vs Pathaan, slated to commence production in January 2024.
Ayan Mukerji, the creative force behind Brahmastra, will helm the directorial duties for War 2, ensuring a riveting cinematic experience awaits audiences.
